2010 Season Just
Around the Corner for Team DRT
Ronnie
Rihn and Team DRT are very excited to announce that their
2010 racing season will get underway from January 9-17, 2010
at the USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona! The 4th Annual 'Wild
West Shootout' will take place at the Arizona speedplant and
six Dirt Late Model events will be held over the nine day
stretch. Ronnie will pilot his #29 MasterSbilt from Mars racecar
powered by an Earnhardt Childress Racing (ECR) engine during
his stint out west.
After returning back to cold and snowy Wisconsin
following the Arizona trip, the DRT team will go back to work
at the shop to ready for a trip to the Sunshine State of Florida.
Details about the Florida trip are not finalized as of yet.
For these two early season tours to Arizona and Florida, veteran
crew chief Tony Kaanta from Kaanta Racing will join the #29
team. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, as his
dad John Kaanta has captured multiple National and Track Championships.
Jake Stai and Trent North will share the rest of the crew
duties. A huge thanks goes out to Donnie Rihn, owner of DRT
Transport and Biosolids, for making these two early season
tours possible!
During the short off-season, Ronnie visited
the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando, Florida
in mid-December. After a solid 2009 season in which Ronnie
made great gains on the competition in both the Dirt Late
Model division and the Asphalt Late Model division, he is
looking forward to a break-out 2010 campaign. Team DRT will
continue to race in each Late Model class and has a new BMS
by Mars Open Wheel Modified on order to compete at the local
tracks after the completion of Speedweeks 2010.

Ronnie Rihn Visits
Victory Lane Again on July 18 at Eagle Valley!
In WISSOTA Midwest Modified racing action at the Eagle Valley
Speedway on July 18, Mark Gerth and heat winner, Brad Hudson,
led the field to the green flag for the start of their feature.
Gerth was the early leader, leading the race for the first
seven laps with Hudson, heat winner, Ronnie Rihn, who had
started ninth, heat winner, Jesse Glenz, who had started eighth,
and Shane Halopka, who had started seventh, in tow.
Two successive cautions caused the field to
realign, one sending Clark Swartz to the back and another
sending Matt Leer to the back. When racing resumed, Rihn shot
to the lead with Gerth following in second. With the laps
winding down, Rihn continued to lead, Gerth battled with Hudson
for second, Halopka joined in the fray for second, and Glenz
settled in for fifth. That then was the finishing order with
Rihn getting his fifth win of the season in his Bloomer Tire
Center-sponsored Midwest Modified.
